On Sunday, 30 August and 27 September, admission to selected guided tours at this site will be free of charge. Please obtain your free ticket in advance through the online booking system. Capacity for each guided tour is limited. On these special days, the following tours will be available: Hospital (basic tour) and Sporck family tomb.
Hospital (basic tour)
In the basic tour you will learn about the history and constructional development of the hospital, you will learn everything important about the personality of Count Franz Anton von Sporck and about the original purpose of the whole complex - the hospitable activity of the Merciful Brothers.
The main tour will guide you through the interior of Kuks Hospital, e.g. the main hospital ward, Holy Trinity Church, the vestry, the courtyard and the Baroque apothecary´s „The Pomegranates“. At the model of the Kuks valley, the history of the entire unique baroque complex is explained; paintings and other exhibits present the life and personality of its founder, Franz Anton von Sporck, and the history of the Brothers Hospitallers who cared for the hospital patients. In the lapidarium, you will see the unique collection of allegories of Virtues and Vices, original sculptures by the most famous Czech Baroque sculptor Matthias Bernard Braun.

The exposition of the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum called “The Magic of Apathy” presents the development of pharmacies from the Baroque to the 20th century and other areas of pharmacy such as research, education or military pharmacy.

The only non-guided exhibiton of the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum called “From the apathy to the factory” on the ground floor of the hospital shows the production of medicinal products from the pharmacy to industrial production in factories.
